Green smoothie’s are my go-to healthy snack pretty much every day. Here’s a fast and easy way to whip up one yourself. Lately I’ve had a bit of an obsession with frozen mango’s in my smoothies, but that’s the beauty of smoothies. You can throw in whatever fruits you like or have on hand. If you’re looking for a healthy snack to add into your day, trust me, your body will thank you. It’s packed with delicious fruits and veggies — all good for you, and tastes oh so good! Try it as a mid-day snack, or after your workout to refuel your body. (Check out my YouTube channel for lots of FREE workouts here!)
Here’s what I’ve been putting in my green smoothies lately:
1 frozen banana (broken in thirds) OR fresh banana works but you’ll need to add some ice cubes to make it creamier
3 or 4 frozen strawberries, 1/4 cup frozen blueberries, or other frozen berries
(OR lately I’ve been using 1/4 cup frozen mango)
2 Tablespoons ground flax seeds
2 large handfuls fresh spinach, kale, or other leafy greens
2 Tablespoons Greek yogurt (optional)
Water- added to thin smoothie to consistency you like
Blend until smooth. Drink while fresh to get the most nutritional benefits. I like to drink a green smoothie in the morning for breakfast some days, and most especially on mornings when I am teaching fitness classes at the gym. What about you? What are some of your favorite fruits or veggies you include in your green smoothies?
